NGC 4051 - Spiral Galaxy M53 - Globular Cluster Photometric Monitoring - Variables - CV CMi, U Gem, RZ LMi, CN Ori, CZ Ori, FO Ori, FU Ori, DY per, GK Per, ER UMa
RX And, U And, W Wand, Z And attempts (failed due to dew)Astrometric Monitoring - Nearby Stars - DX Cnc, Groombridge 34
- Evening session (2.9 hrs duration). Clear and calm conditions, Dew, Moonlight - Session operated under semi-automated control, with remote monitoring from indoors computer. - Main objective of the session was to take images of NGC 4051 and M53 with my 12" LX200 in NE Scotland to compare with those submitted for acquisition by the robotic 2m Liverpool Telescope in La Palma - Ambient Temperature: 1.0 degC minimum - CCD operation -30 degC (at 75% average cooling). - -

image) 1 x 120s exposure (single frame), 2x2 binning, R Filter 2014-03-26 01:05 h UT (#7044C000) (Larger Size, 50% of original) 2m Liverpool Telescope (LT website) 2200m above sea level in La Palma, Canary Islands The LT is a 2 metre Cassegrain reflector, with Ritchey-Cretien hyperbolic optics, on an alt-azimuth mount. It is a fully robotic astronomical telescope owned and operated by the Astrophysics Research Institute of Liverpool John Moores University Image was requested via National Schools Observatory website at a Practical Session Meeting of the Aberdeen Astronomical Society (AAS) held on 2014-03-11 at RGC Aberdeen Session was titled "How to make the most of professional telescopes" and was led by Tim Browett, AAS member and Teacher of Physics & Astronomy |
