- W And, Z And attempts (failed due to cloud)

 61 Cyg, Ross 248 (HH And), Groombridge 34
- Evening session (2.3 hrs), cut short due to cloud
- Session operated under semi-automated control, with remote monitoring from indoors computer. 
- Ambient Temperature: 5.5 deg C (minimum) 
- CCD operation -20 degC (at 63% average cooling).  
- main objective of the session to obtain follow-up images of bright supernovae in nearby galaxy M101

secondary objective was to image project stars for ongoing photometric analysis

M101 with supernova 2011fe  (Ursa Major)
SN 2011fe (= PTF11kly) (Type Ia) was discovered 
2011/08/24.00 by Palomar Transient Factory
Magnitude at discovery +17.2
(Rochester Supernova site | Discovery Image )

SN 2011fe is reported as being the 
nearest Type 1a supernova 
seen in decades
