- Ross 248 (HH And),  61 Cyg, Groombridge 34

 
- Evening  session (6.6 hrs), patchy sky transparency, cloud developing at end of session
- Session operated under semi-automated control, with remote monitoring from indoors computer. 
- Ambient Temperature: -1.0 deg C  (minimum)
- CCD operation -30 degC (at 69% average cooling).  
- main objectives of the session was to acquire images of selected project stars for ongoing photometric analysis.

UGC 2498 - Spiral Galaxy & Supernovae 2011D

UGC 2498 & SN 2011D (Andromedaa)

Supernova 2011D (Type IIb) was discovered 2011/01/05.09 by Catalina Real-Time Transient Survey 
and Stan Howerton; Lick Observatory Supernova Search
Magnitude at discovery +17.3 ?
(Rochester Supernova site | Stan Howerton image | Reference Image )

Image below (2011-01-12.75) was taken 7.7 days after discovery.
SN 2011D position is marked by white cross hair and is very faint.
Image quality is poor to to poor sky transparency and noise associated with moon light,

Attempted follow up observation of SN 2010jj 71 days after discovery 
however poor sky transparency and/or dew on telescope's 
front corrector lens makes it impossible to see SN 2010jj

FS Aur - Variable Star (Type UG)

FS Aur  (Auriga)
FS Aurigae is a peculiar dwarf nova system exhibiting a number of periodicities and 
other phenomena whose origin is not yet understood. 
In addition to the strange periodicities present, the star also exhibits very 
short dwarf nova outbursts that have not been well-defined and covered fully throughout the cycle.
The star is the subject of a study by AVVSO & Dr. Vitaly Neustroev (U. of Oulu, Finland)

In the image below FS Aur is in quiesence. Magnitude is estimated at +16.1
AVVSO Comparison stars are shown with V magnitudes values.

Exposures (60s) were also taken through V & R filters 
however the star was too faint to perform useful photometry 
(see image below)

During outburst the star is expected to reach V=+13.5 to +14.0 and will 
become as bright as the adjacent comparison stars (132 to 142 in image above)
