Objects Session Notes
Comet 17P/Holmes
Astrometric & Photometric Monitoring
- SS Cyg (dwarf nova)
- BL Lac (Blazar)
- U And, W And (mira)
- Z And, TT Ari, RX And (variables)
- TZ Lyr, CY Lyr (variables)
- Barnard's Star, Gliese 725 (Nearby Stars)

-
(unsuccessful attempts at U Her due to cloud)
- Evening session (5.7hr), thin cloud / poor transparency throughout
CCD operation of -25 degC (at 70% average cooling).
- main objective of the session was to acquire images of SS Cyg (dwarf nova) in case it had recently erupted (eruption is anticipated and my last observations were on Oct 25th)
-other objectives were to acquire images of certain selected stars of ongoing photometric and astrometric analysis and attempt a follow-up observation on SN 2007le (NGC 7721)
- secondary objective was to acquire images of 17P/Holmes and selected stars for ongoing astrometric and photometric analysis
