SZ Her - Eclipsing Binary M27 - Planetary Nebula (Dumbbell Nebula) Palomar 2 - Globular Cluster CCD Assisted Polar Alignment Astrometric & Photometric Monitoring
- SS Cyg (Dwarf Nova)
- BL Lac (Blazar)
- U And, W And, U Her (Mira variables)
- Z And, SZ Her (Variable)
- SU UMa (cataclysmic variable)
- Barnard's Star, 61 Cyg, Groombridge 34, HIP 3829, Teegarden's Star (Nearby Stars)
- Session duration 3.2 hr - CCD operation of -20 degC (at 81% average cooling). - main objectives were threefold :-
i) acquire images of a few specific variable stars
ii) check improved polar alignment of the telescope.iii) check the performance/robustness of my camera/telescope control software shell which had just been upgraded from VB.Net/Studio 2001 to VB.Net/Studio 2005 [this was totally successful and no bugs or other problems were noted, apart from a couple of small cosmetic issues without the interface]. - opportunity was taken to acquire images of Palomar 2 and M27 and baseline photometric images of SZ Her. - More Notes -

Single 3 minute unguided exposure of M27 taken as an independent check on polar alignment quality. The image shows pinpoint stars, without any obvious sign of star trailing [ elongation analysis ]
