Objects Session Notes
Star field adjacent to SAO 23825
AXP Monitoring (4U 0142+615 & 1E 2259+586)
NGC 3079 - Spiral Galaxy
Double Quasar Q0957+561 - Gravitationally Lensed Quasar
GCVS RT Aur - Cepheid Variable
Comet 29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann
NGC 2537 - Spiral Galaxy (Bear Paw Galaxy)
M97 - Planetary Nebula ("Owl Nebula")
NGC 1664 - Open Cluster
- 4.5 hour session, cold (1 deg C)
- operation mainly under automated script control
- Near full moon (95% phase) &  thin high cloud
(the combination caused significant problem in getting sufficiently flat backgrounds for showing up dimmer objects.
- main aim was to obtain magnitude estimates for Delta Cepheid & RT Aur and to attempt to image the double Quasar Q0957+561 (in UMa) and the Bear Paw Galaxy in Lynx. This objectives were successfully met.

AXP Monitoring (4U 0142+615 & 1E 2259+586)

Two Anomalous X-ray pulsers (AXPs),  4U 0142+615 and  1E 2259+586 (both lying in Cassiopeia) were checked for brightening. No indication of activity was observed for either AXP.
