Objects Session Notes
Bullet Delta Cepheid - Variable Star
Bullet MPL 2003 UB313 (Attempt)
Bullet M42 - Bright Nebula
- 3.3 hour long session, dark skies.
- Ambient temperature 12 degC
- Aims of session were to record additional magnitude information on Delta Cepheid and T Taurii.
- Opportunity was taken to acquire multi-band images of M42 and a mosaic over M33. An attempt to image/see MPL 2003 UB313 ("10th Planet") was unsuccessful.
- More Notes

Delta Cepheid - Variable Star (Cepheid)

As part of an ongoing project examining the variability in Delta Cepheid, further image sets of the variable star  & the reference star SAO 34542 were recorded at around 22:50h UT (2005-10-28) and 01:23h UT (2005-10-29).  Image sets comprised  7 sequences of  3 x 0.2s V & 3 x 0.6s B (alternated between Delta Cepheid & reference star).  These were analyzed using the methodology described under 2005-10-05 Notes, and combined with previous estimates.

Further observations will be made during future sessions
in order to further refine the light curve

MPL 2003 UB313 Attempt - Kuiper Belt Object

2003 UB313 Attempt (5 min exposure)
Predicted Position of 2003 UB313 is shown within cyan circle.
Due to relatively low altitude (+25 deg) and accompanying high airmass/haze
the deepest magnitude reached in this 5 minute exposure
is c. +17.9 and thus prevented being able to see this +18.7 magnitude
Kuiper Belt object.
The image does however shown two faint galaxies :
PGC 1042418 (catalog mag +16.5) & PGC 1042425 (catalog mag +16.9)
