Notes (S00086)

- 3.3/4 hour imaging session
- the main observing plan was to perform automated imaging of a range of galaxies in Jupiter and comet P/9 Tempel, however Image Link problems due to the small field of view of ST7 at  f/10.3 and a temporary bug with my script program prevented this plan, requiring that targets were 'manually' acquired and imaged. Notwithstanding these problems, the session was successful in acquiring an image of Barnard's Star (one of the closest stars to the Sun  at only 5.94 light years distance), and an image of the Quasar 3C 273 (one of the most distant objects visible through a small telescopes at 1.9 billion light years distance from the Sun)

- images of Jupiter and the Moon were taken whilst waiting for the sky to darken
- some of the later images were somewhat compromised by condensation/dew having formed on the front lens of telescope (Battery for dew heater became flat)

due to its extreme brightness and the
black/white range required to make the
moons visible.
